The Lind Lions Club meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, 7:00 P.M., taking a summer break after
the June's activities. They will resume regular meetings in September.

They are always looking for extra help, so get involved and help them to promote the Lind Community.

They have recently added fencing to the end of the City Park.

Note that they are now selling Brown Paper Tickets for the upcoming derby weekend. See other links for these tickets throughout the web site.

Their major event is the sponsorship of the annual Combine Demolition Derby™ and they always appreciate help from community members.
Attend some of their meetings and enjoy a great meal with the members. Listen to their ideas, then plan to join them and help implement their plans.
You don't have to live in Lind to become a Lions Club member. Get involved! They have currently installed more fencing in the City Park.

They can use your help on all projects, so become a part of this very active group.

About the Lind Lions Club:

Ask any small town community member "Just what does Lind have that would appeal to a visitor"? It may take a few minutes for a logical and meaningful response, but he/she will usually say, "Well, it takes a group of men and community volunteers who hold the heart of Lind in their hands". Not only are they visible in the community, they also take pride in quietly helping individuals or groups. The objectives of the Lind Lions Club are simple: Support all of the youth organizations in the community, and then give a helping hand to any other organization needing it! Simple as that! With 50 members strong, the Lind Lions Club continues to donate their time, and effort to the Lind Community. Plans for the 29th Combine Demolition Derby™ are currently underway, a weekend continuing to add to the warmth and appealing nature of the club and community. It's apparent, too, when the arena stands are filled "to the brim" with 5,000 (or more) visitors who travel from all parts of the United States to attend the 3-day celebration. Ask a visitor to describe the derby and you'll hear, (among other things) that the derby is "Unusual, Weird, Entertaining, Unique, Unbelievable and Awesome!

The Lind Lions Club supports and sponsor and operate the Lind Car and Combine Demolition Derby as their main money maker for the club. They yearly sponsor Camp Wooten for local students, donate derby weekend tickets to various benefit auctions, collect and provide for the Community Birthday Calendar and the Community Christmas Board. They provide food baskets for the holidays for local needy families. They donate to the Senior Center and local food bank. They collect and recycle used glasses, sending to MD-19 for Recycle Program and White Cane Days. They provide eye exams and glasses for the needy on individual needs. They sponsor a yearly Santa visit and treats for the student of our Lind grade school. They support the Christmas Parade and provide prizes for adults and children. They support the Distinguished Young Woman program for local participation, hold Easter Egg hunts and kite flying on Easter weekend, provide a $750 College Scholarhip to a graduating senior. They donate to school classes, the annual Fun Fair and to Hospice for local resident's families. They support the summer swimming program for children, display flags at the cemetery on Memorial Weekend, and added addition poles in 2015. The arena is constantly being updated with finished fences, bleacher additions, and grounds keeping. They recently installed gates around the City Park, donated to Adams County K-9 dog program, sponsored the Kiddie Parade for Derby Weekend, sponsor scouting programs, 4-H clubs and the FFA chapter for their judging team and travel to state and local conventions. Donated yearly to the Lind Volunteer Fire Department for Halloween night functions, and provided money for street dance insurance. They help many individuals and families quietly and behind the scenes. They donate meals to needy families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with food baskets including turkeys, potatoes, vegetables, all the trimmings, and homemade pie. They have purchased many winter coats, gloves and hats for Lind kids and occasionally sports gear. They have purchased medical equipment to the school as needed. A few years ago, they earned a competition award for the most new members. This 50 member club results in success.

Don't criticize this group of men who are diligent about their purpose in the Lind Community. As one member says, "That's what we're about...seeing to it that our Lind kids have the support of our organization. Maybe you could help out instead of criticize."

Hats off to the only service organization in the town. Thanks for always going "above and beyond the call of duty!"
